← LineUpTerms of Use
Last updated 14 October 2026
These terms apply when you use LineUp, on the website or in the app. By using LineUp or creating an account, you agree to them. They’re written to be readable; if anything is unclear, ask us.
1. Who runs LineUp
LineUp is run by [Your full name] in Stellenbosch, South Africa (“we”, “us”). Contact us at [LineUp email].
LineUp is a live guide to nightlife: how busy venues are, how long their lines are, and flash deals offered by venues.
2. You must be 18 or older
LineUp is about venues that sell alcohol, so it’s only for people aged 18 and over. By creating an account you confirm you’re 18 or older. Venues may ask for ID at any time.
3. Your account
•
You don’t need an account to browse venues or report the line. You need one to claim deals.
•
Use your own email address and keep your password private. One account per person.
•
You’re responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us if you think someone else has used it.
•
Venue staff accounts are set up by LineUp for each venue and may only be used by that venue’s staff.
•
You can delete your account at any time on the Account page.
4. Live information is an estimate
•
How busy a venue is comes from the venue’s door count; line times come from reports by venue staff and other users.
•
This information is a best estimate. It can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and we show how fresh it is.
•
It doesn’t guarantee entry. Each venue decides who it lets in (for example ID checks, dress code and capacity).
•
Don’t rely on it for safety decisions. In an emergency, contact the venue’s staff or emergency services.
5. Flash deals
•
Deals are offered by the venues, not by us. The venue that posts a deal is responsible for honouring it and for making sure it complies with the law, including liquor laws.
•
Deals run for the times shown and may end early (for example if the venue ends the deal).
•
To claim a deal you need an account. A “once per person” deal is used up when venue staff scan your code. An “all night” deal can be scanned at each round until it ends.
•
Your deal code changes every 30 seconds. Only the live code on your own screen works; screenshots and copies don’t.
•
Deals have no cash value, can’t be exchanged or transferred, and can only be used at the venue that posted them.
•
Venue staff may refuse service, for example to anyone who appears intoxicated, as the law requires.
Please drink responsibly, look after your friends, and never drink and drive.
6. Fair use
When you use LineUp, you agree not to:
•
post false line reports or spam reports;
•
copy, share, alter or try to forge deal codes, or claim deals for someone else;
•
try to get around limits, access data that isn’t yours, or disrupt or attack the service;
•
use automated tools to collect data from the service.
We may limit, suspend or delete accounts that break these rules, and remove reports that look false.
7. Deal alerts
If you turn on deal alerts, we send you a notification when a venue posts a flash deal (at most 2 per venue per night). You can turn them off at any time on the Account page or in your device’s settings.
8. Payments and line-skip passes
LineUp doesn’t take any payments yet. If we introduce paid features such as line-skip passes, separate terms (including a refund policy) will apply, and you’ll see them before you pay.
9. Venue names and content
Venue names, logos and deal descriptions belong to the venues and are shown with their permission. The LineUp name and app belong to us.
10. Our responsibility
•
We work hard to keep LineUp accurate and available, but we provide it “as is” and can’t promise it will always be available or error-free.
•
Venues are responsible for what happens at their venue, for their deals, and for admission.
•
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by a venue’s decisions or actions.
•
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law that can’t be excluded.
11. Changes, ending and the law
•
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; if a change is important, we’ll tell you in the app.
•
You can stop using LineUp and delete your account at any time.
•
These terms are governed by the law of South Africa.
